ABOUT THE OWNER
E Susan Kellogg began
collecting fine jewelry when at the age of 14 she
began working at Fogle's Jewelry
Store in Cincinnati as an after-school job. Now at
age forty-eighteen, as she laughingly refers to her
age, she has accumulated a significant collection. "Jewelry
is food for the soul," Susan said in a recent
interview, "the beauty and heritage of fine jewelry
remind us that there is love and joy in this world."
Susan
credits her Aunt Ruth for introducing her to really
fine jewelry. "My Aunt was a beautiful
woman in her youth, and men used to shower her with
exquisite jewelry in an attempt to win her affections.
While she spurned many suitors, she kept their gifts
and when she passed on, I was the lucky inheritor of
much of her fine jewelry. My memories of Aunt Ruth
are caught up in the fragrance of fine perfume and
cigarette smoke, the feel of soft furs, and the glitter
of beautiful jewelry."
For LoveJoy Fine Estate
Jewelry, Susan offers many pieces from her extensive,
personal collection. "I
have so much jewelry," she said, "that if
I lived another lifetime, I could not possibly wear
it all. Rather than letting it languish in the bank
vault, I would rather bring these pieces to the light
and let others enjoy them. Fine jewelry deserves to
be seen and worn. When people wear fine jewelry it
embues the jewelry with additional passion and light,
and creates an aura of confidence around the wearer."
LoveJoy
Fine Estate Jewelry is proud to be able to offer the
fine jewelry from Dr. E Susan Kellogg's personal
collection as well as her finds at various auctions. It
is a blessing to be able to share this fine collection
with others interested in preserving the quality of
custom-made and well handicraft jewelry. Much of today's
jewelry is machine turned, repetitious litter that
does not contain the love of its creator," says
Susan. "You can tell just by holding a piece whether
or not it contains the essence of its creator. Truly
beautiful jewelry has been loved and cherished. Those
are the pieces I have in my collection and the jewelry
that I hope others will continue to love for many years."
